It is on Taris (Republic Side). It is neither of the places that are in the portion of the guide written by Aeden (but those are fine choices also). I prefer this location for several reasons. The pipe is quite large. It almost directly faces the light source. It is easy to find. You can place your character all the way to the back and still get light. This is helpful in achieving a full body black shot without showing the pipe near the feet. Also, a large vehicle fits in there too. There are also a few weak enemies at the base of the pipe that can be targeted for shots that require a weapon effect.
Getting there is pretty easy. Just follow the main road from Waypoint Station Aurek headed east. These pictures will help.
